Sacramento, CA — The California Legislature has recognized Ana Gonzalez, Executive Director of the Center for Community Action and Environmental Justice (CCAEJ), as Woman of the Year, an honor bestowed upon her by Senator Eloise Gomez Reyes (Senate District 29) on March 10, 2025. This prestigious award highlights Ana’s remarkable leadership and unwavering commitment to environmental justice and community empowerment.
This March, as we celebrate the extraordinary contributions of women everywhere, we take pride in acknowledging Ana’s exceptional achievements. From her beginnings as a migrant from Mexico and a woman determined to break through systemic barriers, Ana has dedicated her life to advocating for more equitable communities across California.
Under her leadership, CCAEJ continues to be a powerful voice for communities disproportionately affected by pollution and environmental inequities. Ana’s passionate work continues to inspire countless individuals to rise up, take action, and strive for meaningful change.
