CCAEJ recognizes the intersectionality of issues affecting our communities and therefore, actively participates in several coalitions. We focus on three major coalitions –locally, Inland Empowerment; statewide, California Environmental Justice Alliance; and nationally, The Moving Forward Network.

our Approach

Following these major victories, our area continued to be flooded with plans for countless polluting facilities proposed by powerful corporate interests. The Inland Valleys of southern California needed a resource and support organization for the individuals and neighborhood groups who were fighting to keep our community free of environmental health hazards. In 1993, CCAEJ was founded on this principle, and on the belief that residents not only have a right to participate in decisions that directly affect them, but also a responsibility to do so.
